Orlando Has More Domain Names Per Capita Than Any Other Major US City

It might come as a surprise to you to learn that Orlando has more registered domain names per person than any other major US city.

With 243,195 people and 21,877 .COM domain names that begin with “Orlando”, it has more domain names per thousand people (90) than any other major US city. Miami comes close with 87, followed by Reno with 75, Atlanta with 69, and Tampa with 59.

Orlando tops the list because it’s relatively small (it’s only the 78th largest city in the US) and because businesses have grabbed a disproportionate amount of domain names likely in an attempt to capitalize on the large number of people searching for Orlando on the web thanks to its close proximity to Walt Disney World just south of the city.
